Program Overview
The Construction Management Helper program prepares students for a career as a Construction Management Helper. The program provides an introduction to the construction process, safety standards, tools & equipment, project terminology, and industry best practices.
This course prepares individuals for entry level roles supporting construction managers and teams in industrial and commercial settings. Students will gain foundational knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, tools and equipment, project terminology and industry best practices. Upon successful completion, participants will earn a Construction Management Helper Workforce Skills Award.

Receiving Academic Credit Hours
All courses in the Construction Maintenance Helper Workforce Skills Award (WSA) program have the option to be converted to credit hours using a Petition to Record Credit form and all courses lead into the Del Mar College Architecture, Aviation and Automotive pathway including the Building Maintenance, Associate in Applied Science.
Admissions Requirements
- Students must be 18 years of age
- High school diploma/GED not required
- Recommended minimum of 9th grade level math and reading knowledge
