Student Email and Office 365

Username and password

Upon admission, all students are issued a username and temporary password. While enrolled at DMC, your username gives you access to WebDMC, Canvas, campus computers, and other resources. If you have not yet received them, get your username and password now.

Protect your account

Your password will expire every 120 days. You may change your password at any time by enrolling in VikingKey or using the Office 365 portal. It is the student's responsibility to maintain access to their own account.

  • How to change your password online

    You may reset a forgotten password or change your current password using Office 365 and/or VikingKey.

    Office 365

    1. Log in to Office 365 at
    2. To reset a forgotten password, click "Can't access your account?" on the Sign In page or "Forgot my password" under the password field.
    3. To change your current password, log into Office 365, click the Settings gear icon in the top right corner of the screen, then choose "Change your password."


    In order to reset a forgotten password or unlock an account using VikingKey, you must first enroll in VikingKey. (You must know your current password to enroll. If you do not, follow the instructions below for resetting your password).

    Once enrolled in VikingKey, it is recommended that all users take a few minutes to set up security questions so that these tools are available in the event that a password is forgotten or account locked.

    Please note:

    • Your password will expire every 120 days.
    • It may take up to 30 minutes for your new password to sync with Office 365 for email access.

    Change your password

    Users can change their passwords at any time after enrolling in VikingKey.

    1. Go to VikingKey
    2. Click Proceed to VikingKey
    3. Click Change My Password

    Passwords must include the following: one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, one symbol, and must be at least 8 characters in length.

    Reset your password

    If you do not know your password (it has been lost, forgotten or expired):

    1. Call the Help Desk at (361) 698-2330.
    2. You will need to provide a separate email address for validation.
    3. You will be asked to choose three security questions/answers and two pictures that will be used for validation.

Your student email address is your DMC username followed by

Del Mar provides Microsoft Outlook to all new and current students for sending and receiving email. Your mailbox can be accessed with your full student email address and DMC password at

If you prefer to use a personal email account, log into your student email and set up email forwarding so you don't miss anything important.

In addition to Microsoft Outlook, students have access to a full suite of Microsoft apps through Office 365 online. While enrolled as a student, benefits include:

  • 1TB of FREE! online file storage using the OneDrive app from any internet-connected device
  • Online and desktop versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Download Word, PowerPoint and Excel for FREE! on up to 5 personal devices
  • Windows users can also download Access (not available for Mac)
  • Collaborate in real time with teachers and students! Take class notes in OneNote, write essays in Word, or create presentations using PowerPoint and Sway.
