Pest Management
Pest Management
It is the objective of Physical Facilities to incorporate safe, efficient, and effective pest control procedures in order to control structural and landscape pest within the buildings and on the grounds of Del Mar College.
Del Mar College contracts services of a professional pest management company in order to fulfill its pest management obligations. All pesticides used by the company on Del Mar College property conform to federal, state, and local ordinances and laws, and are approved by the Environmental Protection Agency. Physical Facilities and the College’s Environmental Health & Safety Department approve the pesticides for use. The company is required to meet their posting requirements and employ certified applicators in order to perform work at Del Mar College specified and regulated under Texas Administrative Code, Title 4, Part 1, Chapter 7, Subchapter H, Division 3, Rule 7.146
Emergency Procedures
If it is determined that immediate treatment is needed, the Physical Facilities designate will contact the Environmental Health & Safety Department to inspect the reported area and determine if an emergency treatment is required. Upon determination that the area inspected is an emergency requiring immediate treatment, the 48-hour notification procedure above is bypassed. An emergency waiver is signed by the Environmental Health & Safety Department and scanned to the company authorizing immediate treatment.
