Administrative procedures are a set of objective rules enacted by a private or governmental organization that govern management decision-making. This course reviews basic administrative office procedures and skills including but not limited to organization, business communications etiquette, time management, multi-tasking, and records management.
Keyboarding has become a necessary skill for education and most careers. Course focuses on typing skills to improve focus and demonstrate basic keyboarding techniques. Students learn repetitive typing skills in keyboarding to increase accuracy, efficiency, and increase typing speeds.
Microsoft Email is designed to operate as an independent personal information manager, as an Internet mail client, or in conjunction with the Microsoft Exchange Server for group scheduling, email, and task management. Course will train students to send and receive email messages, track calendars, store names and numbers of contacts, and track tasks.
Microsoft Excel is the industry leading spreadsheet software program, a powerful data visualization and analysis tool. Instruction in terminology, moving and copying cells, sorting mathematical, statistical, and financial functions; date and time arithmetic; report generation; and built-in graphics support are reviewed throughout the course.
Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation-based program that uses graphics, videos, etc. to make a presentation more interactive and interesting. Upon successful completion, students become competent in presentation graphics, customize design templates, add tables and charts, create and run a slide presentation, and create, edit, and enhance objects.
Microsoft Word is a popular word-processing program widely used in homes, offices, and schools, to organize, manage and present information, data and figures. Course allows students to become proficient in word processing terminology, editing functions, formatting, search and replace functions, headers and footers, mail merge, and file functions.
QuickBooks is a business and financial management suite complete with tools for accounting, inventory, payroll, tax filing, invoicing, bank account tracking and reconciliation, expense management, budgeting, payment processing, and accounts receivable and accounts payable management. Students who take the course will learn and understand the setup of QuickBooks to help organize a company’s information, identify procedures to complete a computerized accounting cycle, and perform initial installation and start-up procedures.
