Patricia Benavides-Dominguez
Patricia Benavides-Dominguez previously served in various roles at Del Mar College, including Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, Dean of Outreach and Enrollment Services, and Director of Early College Programs. Prior to joining Del Mar College, she worked at Coastal Bend College with their TrIO Programs (Educational Talent Search and Upward Bound) for 13 years.
Mrs. Benavides-Dominguez's educational path shows an intense focus on the skills and talents crucial to serving our student population. She holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education/Teaching from George Mason University (Fairfax, VA). Currently, she is a doctoral student at Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi in the Educational Leadership Program.
Mrs. Benavides-Dominguez serves on numerous DMC committees, including the SACSCOC Steering Committee for the College’s reaccreditation, the DMC Guided Pathways Committee, Developmental Education Council, QEP, and SENDA, and the College’s Strategic Planning Committee.
She serves off-campus on The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA) Board of Directors. Additionally, Mrs. Benavides-Dominguez is a graduate of The United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Leadership Corpus Christi LVX Program (Class 45) and the National Community College Hispanic Council Leadership Fellows Program (Class of 2018). She previously served on the Tuloso-Midway ISD Education Foundation and the Corpus Christi Independent School District Education Foundation.
