Principles of Excellence

Principles of Excellence

The Principles of Excellence were established by the Veterans Affairs (VA) to ensure that student veterans, servicemembers, and their families receive proper support and protections while using federal education benefits. These principles require schools that receive federal funding through the GI Bill to provide clear information about the total cost of education of educational programs, avoid aggressive recruiting tactics, and offer academic and financial counseling. Additionally, the guidelines emphasize the importance of treating veterans with dignity and respect while advancing their interests.
