Welcome to the Testing Center!

The Del Mar College Testing Center seeks to provide high quality testing services for students, graduates, professionals, and those from the surrounding community.  We strive to administer tests in a pleasant, quiet, technologically-advanced environment by specially trained diverse staff with the goal of promoting satisfaction and achievement in reaching academic and professional goals. The Del Mar College Testing Center's mission is to provide reliable testing administration and high quality customer service in a secure environment that facilitates academic success.

 

Exam Information

  • ACT

    The American College Test (ACT) is a national standardized test that measures skills in English, Mathematics, Reading and Science to determine how well you perform the skills necessary for college coursework.

    ACT registration bulletins may be picked up from the Counseling Office or Testing Office. Registration form and fee must be sent directly to the ACT company.

  • CASAS

    CASAS testing helps measure basic skill and academic achievement in reading, listening, math, writing, and related areas for pre-enrollment into Adult Basic Education courses. Please contact the Adult Education and Literacy department at 361-698-2101 or visit the Adult Education Initiatives website to be pre-approved to take this exam.

    **After testing, please contact the Adult Education and Literacy department at 361-698-2101 to enroll in your classes.

  • CLEP

    The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a national program of credit by examination that allows examinees to obtain recognition for college level achievement. The Del Mar College Testing Center offers all 33 CLEP exams. CLEP exams cover material taught in courses that most students take as requirements in the first two years of college.

    *BEFORE REGISTERING, verify with your institution/counselor if the particular CLEP exam you will be taking is accepted.

    1. Create an account and pay the $93 exam fee (Credit/Debit ONLY)
    2. Pay and schedule to take your CLEP exam at the Del Mar College Testing Center located at 3013 Ayers.
  • Correspondence Exams

    Please check the side bar on the right for “Related Links” and select the second bullet titled “Correspondence Request Form”. You will need to submit this form for the request to test at our center for another institute.

  • DMC Instructor Exams

    Note: Not all DMC exams are being offered. You may only test here if your instructor has made prior arrangements with testing center staff. Check with your instructor or refer to your syllabus for clarification.

    You can schedule your exams using Register Blast or by calling the testing center location where you would like to test. Appointments are strongly suggested but walk ins are welcome.

    Our goal is to provide high-quality test administration and assessment services for Del Mar College students. Some DMC faculty require students to complete course exams at the Testing Center. Instructors use the Testing Center to provide a secure, proctored testing environment outside the classroom.

    Faculty and examinees are responsible for abiding by Del Mar College Testing Center Rules and Policies. Please check Testing Hours of Operation.

  • Fire Certification (Texas Commission on Fire Protection)

    Del Mar College is an approved test site for the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Exams.  You must first be approved by the TCFP in order to take this computer-based exam.  Candidates interested in taking the TCFP Exam should secure an Online Exam Eligibility Form using their FIDO accounts and must pay a site testing fee for the exam. Please keep in mind that your FIDO account will only display eligibility for certification once you have met ALL requirements for a specific discipline/level. Listed below are the certifications for TCFP:

    Cost: $20 per exam. Examinees must schedule and pay for their exam at least 24 hours in advance. For questions or concerns about TCFP Testing, you may contact the Testing Center at (361) 698-1645. Please contact the Testing Center to schedule Structural Fire Suppression exam, if it is not your first time taking it.

    On the day of the exam:

    • Check-in will be 15 minutes prior to scheduled time
    • Must have a valid, unexpired Driver’s License or State ID card
    • Copy of approved Online Exam Eligibility Form

  • GED

    Del Mar College serves as an official test site for the General Education Development (GED) exam for the Coastal Bend.

  • Nursing TEAS

    Please contact the Nursing Department at (361) 698-2860 for approval to schedule the ATI TEAS exam. Once approved, use the link below to pay for your exam.

    • Appointments are on a first come, first served basis. Seating is limited. The Nursing TEAS exam will be given on Tuesdays at 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM. All payments are due by 7:30 AM on the Monday BEFORE a student’s scheduled test date. Failure to pay by the deadline will result in rescheduling.
    • You must be a Del Mar College student.
    • You may not bring a calculator. Calculators are built into the exam. 
    • A valid, unexpired government issued photo ID is required at the time of testing. (Driver's license, TX ID card, military ID, or passport). STUDENT IDs WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
    • Examinees MUST create a user name and password on the ATI website BEFORE the day of your test. Not creating ATI credentials before your test date will result in the rescheduling of your TEAS exam per Nursing department. Examinees will use the created username and password to access the exam. You will NOT be allowed to create your ATI credentials at the Testing Center.

  • Radiologic Technology TEAS

    To take the TEAS for the Radiologic Technology program, department approval is not required.

    • This exam is offered Monday - Thursday at 9:00 AM & 12:00 PM.
    • The payment will be the day of the exam.
    • The payment fee is an exact amount of $73.78.
    • You may not bring a calculator. Calculators are built into the exam.
    • A valid, unexpired government issued photo ID is required at the time of testing. (Driver's license, TX ID card, military ID, or passport). STUDENT IDs WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
    • Examinees MUST create a user name and password with ATI BEFORE testing. Examinees will use the created username and password to access the exam.

    Important Information for Candidates

    All tests are timed and consist of multiple choice and true/false questions.

    All licensing applicants must be pre-approved by the TCEQ before applicants are eligible to take a CBT. Once approved, the applicant will be eligible to attempt a total of 4 tests during a one-year approval period. Candidates are allowed to immediately retest after failing the first three of four tests during his/her one year approval period if the Testing Center has adequate space. An additional test fee will by charged by the Testing Center for the immediate re-test.

    Candidates will schedule their exam using the link below and will be required to bring the following items to the Testing Center on test day:

    1. Copy of approval letter from the state
    2. Valid, unexpired Driver's License or State ID Card
    3. Know your social security number
    4. Must have a face cover to enter the building. Check-in will be 10 minutes prior to scheduled time.

    Cost: $20 per exam. Examinees must schedule and pay for their exam at least 24 hours in advance. Examinees MUST schedule and pay for their exam online using the link below.

  • TSI

    The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a state mandate that requires testing to measure college-level readiness in reading, mathematics, and writing. This test will determine which classes you will be required to take during your first and subsequent semesters at Del Mar College.
