NOTICE: Effective immediately, the ATI TEAS price has increased to $65 plus applicable fees. 

All Del Mar College Department of Nurse Education (DNE) student applicants are required to pass the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS) as a condition of admission. The ATI TEAS must be completed prior to submission of an application to the nursing program. 

ABOUT ATI TEAS 

The ATI TEAS, or Test of Essential Academic Skills, is designed specifically to assess a student's preparedness entering the health science fields. The ATI TEAS test is comprised of 170 questions set up in a multiple-choice format with four-option answers. Questions are designed to test the basic academic skills you will need to perform in class in the areas of: Reading, Math, Science, and English and Language Usage.

SCHEDULING THE ATI TEAS 

Students MUST contact DNE staff at (361) 698-2863, (361) 698-2872 or (361) 698-2864 to verify eligibility and to register for a test date prior to paying the testing fee. Students who fail to register with the nursing department will not be able to test.  

TAKING THE ATI TEAS 

In-Person ATI TEAS at DMC Testing Center 

In-person ATI TEAS exams are administered on Tuesdays at 8:00 am and 12:00 noon at the Del Mar College Testing Center in the Multi Service Center, Room 125 located at 3013 Ayers Street, Corpus Christi, Texas 78404. Students must arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled exam time. Students will be asked to complete a COVID-19 Assessment, Acknowledgement and Consent Form prior to the exam to determine recent exposure and symptoms to evaluate eligibility to come on campus. 

Payments for in-person testing must be made online with a credit or debit card via the Del College payment service found here: DMC Online Payments. Choose “Nursing TEAS” and select the testing date confirmed with nursing department staff.  Cost is $68.50 ($65.00 + $3.50 convenience fee.  Payments for in-person testing must be made before 12:30 pm on the Friday immediately prior to their scheduled test date.

Due to COVID-19 precautions, lockers will not be issued to students at this time. Therefore, students may only bring in the following:  

  • Valid Photo ID
  • CarKeys; 
  • Face Cover.

All other items are prohibited and should be left home or locked in students’ cars. No exceptions will be made. 

Remote ATI TEAS (Online) 

The ATI TEAS is now available online with remote proctoring. ATI partnered with Proctorio to virtually proctor the TEAS Exam, allowing students to take it from nearly anywhere with a strong internet connection. Proctorio is a remote proctoring platform that uses machine learning to proctor students from wherever they may be. The remote proctored ATI TEAS Exam offers a variety of secure exam settings including video, audio, and screen recording designed to maintain the integrity of the assessment and ensure uncompromised exam results. 

ATI TEAS exams with Proctorio remote proctoring are administered on Thursdays at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. The cost for is $70.00 ($65.00 + $5.00 proctor fee). Payments for remote exams are made online with a credit or debit immediately prior to start the of the ATI TEAS exam. Students will be prompted to make payments during the remote proctoring log in process. 

To take the remote exam, students must be able to meet specific technical requirements to maintain the integrity of the assessment and ensure uncompromised exam results. 

Before registering for the remote ATI TEAS, ensure following technical requirements can be met: 

  • An internet connection (at least 0.092 – 0.244 Mbps is required). You can test your internet speed using www.speedtest.net.  
  • Desktop or laptop computer – NO iPads, tablets or phones are to be used – with the ability to download Google Chrome 
  • Microphone: Any microphone, either internal or external 
  • Webcam: 320x240 VGA resolution (minimum) internal or external

FALL 2020 Nursing ATI TEAS Dates

ATI TEAS In-Person Testing (at Del Mar Testing Center) will be administered on Tuesdays at 8:00 am and 12:00 noon on the following dates:  September 22 & 29; October 6, 13, 20, & 27; November 3, 10, & 17; December 1 & 15. (No in-person testing on December 8 due to final exams) 

ATI TEAS with Remote Proctoring (Online) will be administered on Thursdays at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm on the following dates: September 24; October 1, 8, 15, 22, & 29; November 5, 12, & 19; December 3, 10, & 17.
