ATI TEAS (UPDATED June 3, 2025)
All Del Mar College Department of Nurse Education (DNE) student applicants are required to pass the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS) as a condition of admission. The ATI TEAS must be completed prior to submission of an application to the nursing program.
ABOUT ATI TEAS
The ATI TEAS, or Test of Essential Academic Skills, is designed specifically to assess a student's preparedness entering the health science fields. The ATI TEAS test is comprised of 170 questions set up in a multiple-choice format with four-option answers. Questions are designed to test the basic academic skills you will need to perform in class in the areas of: Reading, Math, Science, and English and Language Usage.

TAKING THE ATI TEAS
All students MUST contact DNE staff at (361) 698-2864, (361) 698-2892 or (361) 698-2809 to verify eligibility for a test date prior to registering for the test. Students who fail to verify eligibility with the nursing department will not be able to test.
In-Person ATI TEAS at DMC Testing Center
In-person ATI TEAS tests are administered weekly on Tuesdays at 9:00am and 12:00noon at the following locations:

Students must arrive 15 minutes prior to test time.
Remote Testing Through ATI
ATI TEAS testing is available online with remote proctoring by ATI. Details regarding remotely proctored ATI TEAS tests can be found here: TEAS Online Proctored by ATI.
Important Notice: Effective June 19, 2025, final ATI TEAS score reports for remote testing will be available three (3) business days AFTER the exam is completed (excluding weekends and major holidays). Therefore, students who use remote testing must test a minimum of three (3) business days prior to application deadlines so final score reports can be submitted with their applications. Preliminary score reports will not be accepted.
