Viking Vanguard Social Media Ambassadors

Capture the Student Experience of Del Mar

The Viking Vanguard is Del Mar College’s student social media ambassador program. Members create authentic, student-led content that highlights campus life, academic experiences, and college events.

Viking Vanguard members serve as digital storytellers for the college. Through monthly content themes and select event coverage, participants help showcase the real student experience while gaining hands-on experience in social media, branding, and content creation.

The program offers opportunities for creative growth, professional development, and leadership, all while representing Del Mar College in a positive and engaging way.

Eligibility

• Must be a Del Mar College student in good academic standing
• Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
• Commit to participating for the full semester
• Be willing to create monthly content and attend select campus events
• Demonstrate professionalism both online and in person

Program Expectations

Viking Vanguard members are expected to:

• Create and submit monthly content based on open-ended themes
• Attend select campus events to capture photo and video content
• Represent Del Mar College positively across social media platforms
• Follow brand and conduct guidelines
• Participate in required trainings or meetings as scheduled

• A $1,000 stipend ($500 per semester) upon successful completion of program expectations

Representation and Conduct

As representatives of Del Mar College, Viking Vanguard members are expected to demonstrate professionalism, inclusivity, and respect. Content should reflect the values of the college and contribute positively to the campus community.
