College Relations Mission

Effective, Relevant Communications

The mission of the Del Mar College Office of College Relations is to enhance the College image and maximize institutional advance so our community understands and supports the institutional values and education opportunities the College provides throughout the Texas Coastal Bend.

Using a research-based approach, College Relations manages the College brand identity and strategic marketing, fosters food public relations and promotes recognition and understanding of the College through market research, integrated brand marketing, social media communications, print, electronic and visual assets production, advertising, promotional activities and selected special events.

Further, College Relations develops and maintains positive relationships with community constituents, opinion leaders, elected officials and serves as the official liaison between the institution and the media. College Relations operations are also integral to College website management and crisis communications.

College Relations monitors institutional image in the media and the community, is proactive in identifying and managing relevant public issues and serves as counsel on these matters to the President and other administrators.
