How did DMC help set you on your course to achieve your dreams?

“Del Mar College provided me with the tools and guidance I needed to turn my dreams into reality. Not having a clue what I wanted to do, the advisors were a great resource, guiding me into the right coursework and opportunities. Their support and personalized advice helped me navigate my career path with confidence. The comprehensive journalism programs and hands-on experiences gave me the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.”

What is your best memory from your experience at DMC?

“Among the many valuable experiences at Del Mar College, serving as the editor of the student newspaper, Foghorn News, stands out as particularly significant. Managing a team of reporters, photographers and graphic designers presented both challenges and rewards. Deciding on stories, adhering to deadlines and balancing these responsibilities with my academic commitments required meticulous attention and perseverance. Dr. Manuel Flores, my advisor at the time, provided crucial guidance, emphasizing that while hard work was essential, maintaining a balanced approach was equally important to avoid burnout. This role not only honed my leadership and organizational skills but also reinforced the importance of resilience and effective time management.”
