President's Council

DMC President Mark Escamilla

Why Join the President's Council?

There are many reasons why people join the President's Council. Members are those who recognize the vital role of Del Mar College in higher education. They also recognize the excellence in education provided at Del Mar College. They are inspired to make a difference in our community by supporting Del Mar College, and they want to make a difference in students’ lives by supporting Del Mar College.

Del Mar College is about building community: a community that is growing rapidly with unprecedented levels of high paying jobs for those with the necessary skills. We are working diligently to keep up with the demands of industry to train and educate our local workforce. Our mission is important: to provide access to quality education, workforce preparation and lifelong learning for student and community success. The Del Mar College Foundation plays a pivotal role in that success, providing over 1.1 million dollars in scholarship support to students last year.

Whether or not you attended Del Mar College, we are your community college. One of the roles of President's Council members is simply talking to people and find out how Del Mar College has touched them and to share their own experiences and knowledge about the College with others. This past year, members of the President’s Council received behind-the-scenes access to campus projects, made international research opportunities available to our students, and helped increase the visibility of the President and the College in our community. Members help our community connect with our community college.

Members also make a yearly financial contribution to the President’s Council to support President Mark Escamilla’s efforts to bring the Del Mar story to important audiences throughout the year ─ audiences who can help build our community and our community college. Anyone may make a contribution to the President's Council, but membership depends on donations that fall within one of the four categories below.
