    Mary McQueen is the Executive Director of Development for Del Mar College where she oversees development, alumni, grants, scholarships and the DMC Foundation. Under her leadership the DMC Foundation had grown to be among the top 10% of community college foundations nationally with overall assets of $22 million and average annual fundraising at $3 million. Mary's current major project is to raise $25 million for a comprehensive campaign for DMC.

    Mary's previous positions include Chief Development Officer for the Texas State Aquarium, Director of Public Affairs at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Public Affairs Producer for KEDT-TV and Editor in Chief for three city magazines, Business Monthly, Corpus Christi Monthly and Corpus Christi Magazine.

    Mary has a BBA in Management and has been a CFRE since 2005. She was named Outstanding Professional Fundraiser of the Year (AFP Coastal Bend) in 2016 and has received the Rotary Lifetime Achievement Award, Rotarian of the Year Award, Spirit of Rotary Award, YWCA “Y” Women in Careers Award and Outstanding Alumni Award from TAMU-CC National Alumni Association.

    Matthew J. Busby is the Director of Development for Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. The fuel that drives him is witnessing amazing students overcome very real obstacles and impossibilities to achieve success … and helping facilitate the joy his donors experience through philanthropy.

    His responsibilities include leading the six-person development team, guiding the comprehensive campaign to success and individual fundraising. Prior to joining Del Mar College in 2019, he spent ten years between College of the Mainland and Hill College, serving in financial aid, academic advising and fundraising positions.

    A sixth-generation Texan, Matthew has a B.A. in Political Science from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and an A.A. from Temple College in Temple, Texas. Outside of work, he loves spending time with his wife, family and friends; traveling; dancing and genealogy.

    Matthew earned his Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) in 2017, the same year he was elected as President of the Texas Association of Community College Foundations (TACCF). During his two-year term he led the state organization through an exciting period of strategic reinvention and growth. He is a member of AFP, CASE and TACCF and has presented at district, state and national conferences for AACC, CASE, TACCF and NCMPR on LinkedIn and fundraising strategies.

    Joel has a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University – Kingsville. Joel assists the Executive Director of Development in the planning, coordinating and reporting roles of the Foundation's resource management function. This is accomplished through managing and coordinating associated functions and reporting on the administration of financial and scholarship matters associated with the Del Mar College Development and Foundation Services activities.

    Joel also oversees the related financial and reporting functions associated with the DMC Foundation which operates as a separately chartered 50l(c)3 organization; manages and coordinates various databases associated with donor tracking, gift reporting, accounting and on-line scholarship management, oversees departmental training on databases. Other duties include providing the administrative duties of supervising one or more staff members and working with volunteer committees associated with the Foundation Board as directed.

    Audra joined the Del Mar College Foundation development team in September 2019. As a Development Officer, Audra finds meaningful ways to engage corporate and foundation partners, as well as individuals to support student scholarships and programs. Originally from South Texas, Audra is excited to help advance the College’s mission to provide access to quality education for all the citizens of the Coastal Bend, whether they are seeking a traditional college experience, workforce development, or lifelong learning.

    Prior to joining Del Mar College, Audra served as Director of Development - Major Gifts at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. In her two years at Southwestern, Audra developed a new portfolio of alumni and friends of the University to reconnect and engage them with campus, students, and faculty, while also finding meaningful ways for them to support the University’s mission.

    Prior to Southwestern, Audra was a member of the Major Gifts Team at the University of Texas at Austin, working with alumni in Dallas, Central Texas, San Antonio, the Rio Grande Valley, and Mexico City. During her 8 years at UT, she was fortunate to help launch the University’s International Outreach Efforts and was part of the University’s historic $3 billion capital campaign.

    Audra received her B.A. in Archeology & Anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, volunteering in the community, and outdoor adventures with her husband and their two dogs Lani and Charlie.

    Robert joined the development team of Del Mar College Foundation in April of 2017 and serves as a Development Officer working with corporate and foundation partners, and individuals in raising funds for student scholarships and programs. As a native South Texan with deep roots in the community, he is proud of the relationships he has built and the generous support he garners for Del Mar College.

    Prior to joining Del Mar College, Robert served as Development Manager at the Texas State Aquarium for five years. During his time there, Robert was instrumental in raising $50M for a capital campaign that doubled the size of the aquarium and exceeded its campaign goal.

    Robert earned his BA in Political Science from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2010. As a first-generation college graduate who attended college as a non-traditional student later in life, Robert is passionate about his work in higher education advancement and assisting students realize their highest potential. Robert continually shares that nothing can compete with the face of a young person walking across the stage with a huge smile on his or her face and the feeling of personal accomplishment. Robert also serves on the Board of Directors of the Coastal Bend Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).

    Outside of work, you can find Robert in his chef’s hat entertaining family and friends with gourmet fare or cuddling with his four canine companions and the latest Netflix.

    Patti Yaklin serves as the Annual Giving Officer for Del Mar College Foundation. She joined the DMC Foundation development team in 2017. In her current role, she is responsible for the employee giving campaign, President’s Council, and annual community giving.

    Prior to working at Del Mar College, Patti was the owner and operator of the B-Bar-B Ranch Inn bed and breakfast, and was instrumental in expanding the Kingsville Convention and Visitors Bureau, as well as being the Nature Tourism Chair for the Texas Travel Industry Association. She closed the bed and breakfast after 11 years to study full-time at Texas A&M University – Kingsville, and in 2008 received a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business. While a student in Kingsville, Patti was the Special Events Coordinator for the Kingsville Chamber of Commerce. She has also served as a board member for the Kingsville Chamber of Commerce and the Kingsville Convention and Visitors Bureau. Patti became the Executive Director of Wildlife in Focus in 2009 developing their four programs and raising funds to sustain the nonprofit organization.

    Patti currently serves on the board of Associated of Fundraising Professionals and Wildlife in Focus.  Patti lives in Kingsville with her husband. She enjoys the outdoors, loves to read and spend time with her family.

    Cynthia has served as the Development Coordinator in charge of Special Events since October 2016. Presently, she plans and executes the following annual events: Bernie’s Famous Crawfish Boil, Stringers for Scholarships fishing tournament and Over the Edge rappelling fundraiser.

    Prior to joining the Del Mar College Foundation, the Corpus Christi native spent 18 years at the Corpus Christi Caller-Times – both as a journalist in the Newsroom in various editor roles and in the Marketing Department, representing the newspaper in the community and organizing events.

    Del Mar College is central to Cynthia’s story. Her parents met as students at DMC. And when Cynthia was attending the University of Texas at Austin in the late-1990s, her father took a second job - teaching night classes at Del Mar College - to pay for her education.

    Deborah Johnson is the Database Coordinator who manages the Donor Management database system for Del Mar College Foundation. She received her AAS degree in Data Processing from Del Mar College and got her first job as a computer programmer at HEB Grocery Company in Corpus Christi. Deborah has worked in different capacities with computer systems ever since, with responsibilities for programming, analysis, supervision of financial applications, and management.

    While raising two boys with her husband John, Deborah decided to go back to school 20 years after receiving her Associates Degree to obtain a BBA in Management.

    Five years ago Deborah accepted the opportunity to come back to Del Mar College as Database Coordinator for the foundation. Using the department’s older fundraising system, she was challenged with enabling Development staff to retrieve meaningful donor information. The need for upgrading to a new Donor Management system became apparent, and Deborah was asked to review the options.

    After reviewing many solutions, Deborah successfully implemented a cloud-based system known as Raiser’s Edge NXT, which provides staff with information and tools needed to achieve Department and College goals.

    Elsie Odom serves as the Scholarship Coordinator for Del Mar College Foundation. In her current role, she oversees the Foundation’s scholarship program, including strategic planning and implementation, data management, awarding, processing, and scholarship reception event. The Foundation partners with corporations, community organizations, foundations, and individuals in raising funds for student scholarships and programs. Elsie awards nearly $2 million in scholarships to students each academic year.

    Prior to joining Del Mar College in 2011, Elsie served as Stewardship Officer at Rice University for five years. Elsie has broad-based knowledge of the sector with more than 14 years of experience in higher education. This experience gives her a deep appreciation for how nonprofits seek to improve the quality of life for students. Her passion lies in helping students succeed and achieve their dreams. Her motto is, “Never give up.”

    Elsie holds a bachelors degree from the University of Houston-Victoria and is a member of TACCF and TACHE.

    Elsie loves spending time with family, especially with her daughter, cooking, gardening, and traveling.

    J. Keith Tucker joined the Del Mar College Foundation team in October of 2019 as part of the accounting support staff. He enjoys the camaraderie and sense of family Del Mar College has developed. He is a lifetime member of the Mayflower descendants of America with genealogy traced back to pilgrim John Alden, a founding member of the Mayflower.

    Prior to Del Mar College, Keith has spent the last decade and a half honing his skills in accounting and communication through many avenues of work. During his undergrad at Del Mar College, he was chosen for an internship at Walt Disney World in Florida. He has worked in the real estate industry, oil filed support, for Omni Hotels, and the Diocese of Corpus Christi.

    His love for Corpus Christi and community has kept him local and he has earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Keith is an accomplished singer, singing in multiple choirs and has performed in multiple musicals. His civic duty has led him to serve on the Board of Directors of the Harbor Playhouse as Secretary and on the Board of Directors as a member at large for Del Mar Master Chorus most recently.

    Keith is married to his high school sweetheart and they love to cook, travel, and spend time with friends and family from all over the country and world.

    Mary Elizabeth earned an MS in Technical Communications (now called Human Centered Design and Engineering) from the University of Washington in the year 2000 where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She earned a BA in English, English/Language Arts, and Teacher Education from Seattle Pacific University in 1986 where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.

    After living most of her life in the Pacific Northwest where she taught secondary English, History, Adobe Creative Suites, Web Design, Graphics Design and other courses, Mary Elizabeth is loving life in Corpus Christi, TX. As the Communications Coordinator, Mary Elizabeth supports the communication functions of the Del Mar College Office of Development and Foundation Services by providing quality digital and print marketing and informational materials to relevant audiences. This is accomplished by developing and maintaining departmental web pages and communication vehicles for the Development, Scholarships, and Foundation Services offices including, but not limited to, electronic newsletters, e-blasts, online giving pages, sponsorship packages, and campaign documents.

    Mary Elizabeth also supports the Foundation’s campaign marketing with graphics and document design, photography, social media planning, development, posting, management, and analytics. Finally, Mary Elizabeth develops multi-media as needed to deliver communications and campaign messages to target audiences.

    When she isn’t working, Mary Elizabeth enjoys living near the Gulf with her husband and their canine kids.

    Belinda Cisneros is a confident and well-organized Administrative Assistant who supports various projects in the Office of Development/Foundation department. She is a highly approachable individual who has a pleasant attitude and a willingness to positively affect every individual she encounters at the Del Mar College Foundation and even outside of the College.

    When not at work, Belinda enjoys spending time with her family and traveling with her husband of 32 years. She is a graduate of Roy Miller High School.

    Before relocating to Corpus Christi when my husband was recruited to work on the Navy Base, my previous experience as an Executive Administrative Assistant was in the aircraft sales industry in California. This was my first experience in the Administrative Assistant field, and I truly enjoyed the responsibilities involved in being the ‘Right-Hand Man’ assisting in everyday activities, buzzing with excitement and negotiations. The CEO actually offered me the position at a company party, and I was quite hesitant to take on the responsibilities. I’m so glad I did, because it was a truly rewarding experience and made a great addition to my experience portfolio.

    Prior to working as an Administrative Assistant, I retired after 25 years with American Airlines. I decided to travel and be a housewife. During my career with American Airlines, I was an Account Manager in Cargo Revenue Accounting. I managed the Caribbean and Latin American accounts, which also included my responsibilities as a Collector. After approximately eight years, the entire department was outsourced, and I found another position within the company.

    My new venture was as an Auditor. Upon completion of SABRE training (AA’s reservation system), I proceeded to gain employment as a Travel Agency Auditor and Passenger Ticketing Auditor. The purpose was to detect fraudulent ticketing practices for anyone issuing tickets on three major carriers: American Airlines, Delta and United. Fraud hurts the travel industry tremendously, and I knew my responsibilities were an important part of capturing lost revenue.

    My husband and I both worked for American Airlines, and we decided to relocate to Ft Worth since this is where American Airlines Headquarters is located. I finished my career working in the mortgage lending industry. My job was to assist American Airlines employees to qualify for mortgages and home equity loans and attain the lowest rate possible. During times of distress, I also issued employee personal emergency loans, without any credit-qualification requirements (A great quality of American Airlines is that they care for their employees!). I took pride in assisting anyone that came to me for financial help.

    After growing up in Honolulu, Hawaii, Kimberly served four years active duty, six years reserve and one deployment in the United States Navy.  She earned a BA in business with a focus on marketing from Texas A&M- Corpus Christi while working full time.  She has spent her career in the professional recruiting industry, in retail, contract assignments for the Corpus Christi Chamber Foundation and FUMC Capital Campaign and most recently in fundraising and prospect research.  She is grateful for a part time position at the Del Mar College Foundation and a professional contract role with Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health which allows her to help make positive impact locally and statewide.

    A graduate of Leadership Corpus Christi class 33 and of Texas Leadership 16.  Kimberly was nominated Corpus Christi 40 under 40 in 2012.  She has served on the board of American Fundraisers Professional Corpus Christi Chapter, Leadership Corpus Christi Alumni Association, Vinson Morris Child Center and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Alumni Association.  She currently serves on The Corpus Christi First United Methodist Church Foundation, Inc., and volunteers as a peer leader for Women Veterans Network.

    Of all these roles, the most treasured is wife (14 years and counting) to her best friend Jim DeVisser, who is a battalion chief for Corpus Christi Fire Department.   Step-mother to her chosen son and daughter Sophia (21), Nathan (24) and full time mother to her God given surviving and thriving kiddos Kekoa and Kailani (6).
