Perkins Grant Funding
You may qualify for Perkins funding!
Perkins grants expand opportunities for students to explore, choose, and follow Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and career pathways to earn valuable credentials. A portion of these funds are set aside to assist Del Mar College students in CTE programs with needs such as transportation assistance while attending clinicals and internships.
Do I qualify?
These programs were created to target students with unique or special circumstances. You may be eligible for Perkins funds if you fall into one or more of the following categories:
- Individuals with disabilities
- Individuals currently receiving a Pell Grant
- Individuals preparing for occupation in nontraditional fields
- Single parents, including single pregnant women
- Out-of-workforce individuals
- Homeless individuals
- Youth who are in, or have aged out of, the foster care system
- Youth with a parent who is a member of the armed forces and is on active duty
- Individuals who do not speak English or whose native language is not English

Are you a single parent or a single pregnant student enrolled in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program? We're here to support you!
Follow these steps to get started:
- Complete the Viking Victory Intake Form
- Schedule a meeting with the Access & Advocacy Specialist to review your form, discuss your needs, and connect you with valuable resources. Meetings are available in-person or virtually. Schedule your meeting here!
Student Benefits Include:
- Personalized guidance to navigate your academic journey as a single parent or single pregnant woman with children under 18.
- Assistance in understanding your rights and connecting with campus offices for necessary accommodations.
- Financial support for course materials, textbooks, transportation, childcare enrollment fees, ongoing childcare costs, and exit exams or licensing fees.
- Opportunities to build connections and create a supportive community with fellow Viking single parents.
- Strategies and resources to achieve a healthy balance between student life and parenting.
