Information for Borrowers
LOAN BORROWERS, Please be aware when requesting loan amounts:
If I am not eligible for the total amount in a subsidized loan, I will accept a combination of subsidized and unsubsidized loans to equal the total amount requested.
Del Mar College is very concerned about student debt and the ability of our students to repay their debts. You can not complete a Request Loan Application through WebDMC. Consequently, students requesting to borrow a loan who fall into one or more of the categories below are required to complete a Direct Loan Appeal within the Financial Aid Office:
- Student has borrowed more than the DMC loan limit of $17,500 (regardless of college from which loans were borrowed)
- Student has previously borrowed a student loan and the loan went into default (previous default borrower)
- Student is requesting an additional unsubsidized loan in excess of $1,000 per semester (varies for dependent students)
Transfer Students Only
- Confirm ALL official college transcripts have been submitted to the Registrar’s Office for review.
- MUST have an updated Transfer Credit Hour Evaluation Form (TRCR) on file with the Financial Aid Office.
