• Earned master’s degree in journalism from University of Oklahoma
• Earned doctoral degree (PhD) in mass communication from University of Iowa
• Completed Management & Leadership in Education Program at Harvard
• Provost and VP Academic Affairs for Texas A&M University Corpus Christi beginning 2007, now retired from academia
• Brings nearly 35 years of teaching, research, administration, managerial and leadership experience
• Serves as President and CEO for the World Affairs Council of South Texas
