Internships

OSHT 2388 - Internship is the Capstone of the Occupational Safety and Health Technology program. Taken in the final semester of the program, the student performs 144 hours of internship in the Safety Department of a local industry under the supervision of that industry's Safety Officer(s).

The internship is designed to allow the student the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained in the program in real-life situations. The student must submit weekly reports of the projects with which they have been involved, including any observations they have made.

The Safety Officer(s) at the industry also submit evaluations of the student's progress.

The student may choose where he or she wishes to perform their internship, but the location must be approved by the Program Coordinator prior to beginning the internship.
