Clinical Rotations give students the opportunity to apply knowledge gained in the classroom. The Emergency Medical Services Professions program is committed to providing our students with the highest quality clinical experience possible.
The EMS Professions program maintains clinical affiliations with Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi, which provide clinical rotations at its three campuses - Shoreline, South - and Corpus Christi Medical Center's Doctor's Regional and Bay Area locations.
- Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi—Shoreline is predominantly the cardiac hospital for the system and provides ER, Medical ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Operating Room, Acute Coronary Care Unit, and Cath Lab clinical rotations.
- Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi—South is designated for the Obstetrical unit and ER.
- Doctor's Regional provides ER, Medical ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Surgical ICU, Acute Coronary Care Unit, Renal, and Cath Lab clinical rotations.
- Bay Area provides ER, Medical ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Operating Room, Acute Coronary Care Unit, Cath Lab clinical rotations and Obstetrical rotations.
- Driscoll Children's Hospital is a Level 3 trauma facility offering complex and comprehensive medical and surgical care for children. The hospital and its specialty centers, urgent care centers and after-hours facility serve a vast area. On a daily basis, physicians and patients are transported by ground and air to ensure the children of South Texas can receive the best treatment possible. Driscoll treats more than 100,000 children every year from 31 South Texas counties. The hospital is a 189-bed tertiary care center offering 32 medical and 13 surgical specialties.
