Program Overview
Culinary Arts
The Culinary Arts Program at Del Mar College is a comprehensive training program designed to prepare the student to enter an exciting career in the fast-paced workplaces of the food industry. The program includes an off-campus experience as well as on-campus course work leading to the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Arts (Chef Training). A Level II Cook/Baker certificate program is also offered.

Students planning to continue at a senior college should consult an advisor concerning degree requirements of the college to which transfer is intended.
Accreditation
The Culinary Arts programs are accredited as Exemplary by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission, 180 Center Place Way, St. Augustine, Florida 32095.
Postsecondary programs that have earned this badge have demonstrated their understanding of and compliance with the ACFEF-accredited standards. Earners have been evaluated in Program Eligibility, Program Mission and Goals, Organization and Administration, Faculty and Staff, Curriculum, Facilities, Student Services, Program Assessment. Exemplary programs have been in full compliance for two grant periods. ACFEF Accrediting Commission is recognized by Council on Higher Education Accreditation.
