Program Overview

The Baking/Pastry Program at Del Mar College is a comprehensive training program designed to prepare the student to enter an exciting career in the fast-paced workplaces of the food industry. The program includes off-campus experience as well as on-campus course work leading to the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Baking/Pastry Specialization. A Level II Cook/Baker certificate program is also offered.

Students planning to continue at a senior college should consult an advisor concerning degree requirements of the college to which transfer is intended.

Accreditation

The Baking/Pastry Specialization programs are accredited as Exemplary by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission, 180 Center Place Way, St. Augustine, Florida 32095. Students planning to continue at a senior college should consult an advisor concerning degree requirements of the college to which transfer is intended.

The Culinary, Baking & Pastry, and Hospitality Management programs are located in the Restaurant Management Building (RM) on the West Campus at the intersection of Airport Rd. and Old Brownsville Rd.  The Restaurant Management Building (RM) features a working restaurant, kitchens, classrooms and offices.  The entrance is located on Old Brownsville Rd. before you get to Airport Rd.
