    Del Mar College Streaming “Virtual” Viking Spring 2021 Commencement Ceremony

    Friday, May 14 @ 6:30 p.m.

    • The COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact the way people celebrate even the most traditional activities like graduation. The traditional “walking the stage” during commencement to signify students receiving their hard-earned reward and celebrating their accomplishment was impacted in 2020 and now in 2021 for spring Del Mar College “prospective” graduates. However, the College has scheduled a “virtual” commencement ceremony for the Class of Spring 2021. The online ceremony will feature congratulatory videos, remarks—including a keynote address presented by KIII-TV news anchor Leslie Adami—and reading of participatings’ names from the Class of Spring 2021. Several social media platforms are available to access the May 14 ceremony beginning with a pre-show at 6:30 p.m. then followed by the formal commencement at 7 p.m. Family, friends and the general public are invited to watch this celebration.


    Del Mar College Livestreaming Dental Hygiene Program’s 50th Annual Pinning Ceremony 

    Friday, May 14 @ 10 a.m.

    • It’s a tradition. The Del Mar College Dental Hygiene Program will present their 50th Pinning Ceremony to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of this year’s 23 graduates. Only this year, the event is virtual and scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, May 14. For these students, completing the program was a two-year journey, including the challenges posed by the pandemic, and the ceremony honors their dedication to completing the program and commitment to serving their patients, the community and the profession.

    • The Del Mar College Physical Therapist Assistant Program will host its 2021 pinning ceremony virtually at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11. The traditional ceremony will be celebrating the transition of 19 student clinicians into our community of practice. This momentous event recognizes student achievement and is an opportunity for students to affirm their commitment to serving their patients, community and profession.

    Del Mar College Virtually Hosting 69th Recognition Ceremony

    • Del Mar College’s Recognition Ceremony, which acknowledges student achievement, is an annual event that students look forward to attending. However, the College will hold its 69th Annual Recognition Ceremony virtually at 7 p.m. on April 29 and invites family, friends and the public to view the online event. A time-honored tradition, the College will recognize students’ academic successes from each department from DMC academic divisions as well as highlight East and West Campus Instructors of the Year, who are selected by the student body. This year’s newest Hal of Fame inductees also will be announced, a prestigious honor celebrating student achievement beyond academics since 1949.
