Program Overview
The Associate of Arts in Teaching Grades 8–12 Speech satisfies the lower-division requirements for a bachelor's degree leading to initial Texas certification to teach speech in a high school. The course work introduces students to the fields of public speaking, interpersonal communication, business and professional communication, small group communication, argumentation and debate, and oral interpretation.
Curriculum
Students planning to continue at a senior college should consult an advisor concerning degree requirements of the college to which transfer is intended.
