Q: What is the cost of attending the RN to BSN Program?
A: Del Mar College tuition costs can be located on the college website under tuition and fees. The program is for three semesters. In semester one, students take a total of 12 credit hours, semester two totals 10 credit hours, and semester three totals 8 credit hours. The entire program has 30 credit hours. Additional estimated* expenses totaled for all semesters is approximately $930; textbooks and supplies (one time purchase) approx. $550.

Q: Is there assistance available to help with the cost?
A: Students may reach out to the DMC Foundation for information on scholarships and emergency aid. You can also reach out to the DMC financial aid office for more information. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) offers a nurse loan repayment assistance program. Please review the link for eligibility requirements.

Q: What are the requirements prior to application?
A: Students must have earned an associate degree in nursing (ADN) from a nationally or regionally accredited institute of higher education that is a Board Approved Nursing Program, or a diploma in Nursing from a national nursing accreditation agency.

Q: Do I need to have a Registered Nurse (RN) license?
A: Yes. Students must have a current, unencumbered license as a registered nurse prior to the start of the second eight-week classes in the first semester of the program.

Q: Does the program have clinical requirements?
A: Yes. In the second half of semester two students have a Community and Public Health Clinical; in semester three students have a Leadership and Management Clinical course. The required face-to-face clinical hours for these courses are minimal, and scheduling is flexible.

Q. Can students work while in the RN to BSN program?
A: Yes. The program is primarily online and designed for working nurses.

Q: What is the academic schedule for the program?
A: The program is 3 semesters in total. Students may enter in the fall or spring. Semesters 1 and 2 are divided into two terms. Students take two courses in the first term and two courses in the second term. The final semester is not divided into terms; students take three courses simultaneously.
