The student life nucleus on the Heritage Campus
The Harvin Student Center will undergo its first major renovation since the late 1990s. The renovation/modernization will include reorganization of departments that will remain in the Harvin Student Center. These departments include:
First floor
- Student Leadership/Campus Life
- Campus Dining
- Viking Food Pantry
- Journalism/The Foghorn
- Bookstore
- Veterans Center
- Disability Services
- Student learning and collaboration spaces
- Student media center
Second floor
- Center for Mexican American Studies
- Career Development
- Financial Aid
- Student Engagement and Retention
- Triple SSS Grants
- TRIO-Educational Opportunity Center
- Associate Vice President for Student Affairs
- Counseling Center
- Multipurpose conference center
Renovation/modernization will include new finishes (walls, floors and ceilings), new heating/ventilation/air conditioning, new plumbing, new plumbing fixtures, new electrical, new lighting and new low voltage data cabling. The existing elevators will be upgraded/modernized to current standards. A new north entry and canopy, a new outdoor plaza, and additional parking are also being planned.
