Library Sculpture Gallery
About the Library Sculpture Gallery
The Library Sculpture Gallery is a permanent collection of Library Purchase Award winners from the National Drawing and Small Sculpture Competition sponsored annually by Del Mar College. The Library Purchase Award has been given annually since the fourth annual competition in 1970.
The National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show is the only such competition and show in the United States to be held at a community college. The juried exhibition features diverse, contemporary drawings and sculpture by artists from all across the nation. Well-known judges and lecturers, such as Jesús Bautista Moroles, James Surls, Luis Jimenez, Fritz Scholder, Marisol, Peter Saul, Ivan Karp, Melissa Miller, and Peter Selz, contribute to the prestige of the National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show.
The Library Sculpture Gallery is CLOSED due to the William F. White, Jr. Library renovation.
