Who qualifies?
Del Mar College’s Freedom to Dream Tuition and Fee Waiver 2.0 is designed to make higher education more accessible. To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:
In-District Residency: You must reside within the boundaries of one of these school districts:
Corpus Christi ISD
Calallen ISD
Flour Bluff ISD
Tuloso-Midway ISD
West Oso ISD
Parts of London ISD and Robstown ISD
Not sure if you qualify? Your household is considered in-district if it falls within these school districts and contributes to Del Mar College property taxes. Contact our Student Enrollment Center team to check your residency status.
High School Graduates
Must be part of the Class of 2026, including GED recipients
Dual Credit students are eligible, regardless of the number of credits earned
OR
Adult Learners
Must have 12 or fewer semester hour credits completed and have attempted no more than 18 semester hoursat the time the Fall 2026 Semester begins (August 24, 2026)
College-Ready (NEW REQUIREMENT)
Applicants must demonstrate they are prepared for college-level courses by earning readiness benchmark scores on their TSIA2 assessment test or equivalent. See TSIA2 readiness scores here.
Additional Requirements
Full-Time Enrollment Required
Must enroll in at least 12 semester credit hours (SCH) per term beginning in the Fall 2026 Semester
Academic Progress
Must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA to continue receiving the waiver
