Get to Know Valdar!

This campaign is designed to introduce young students to Valdar and the college he represents: Del Mar College!

The "Who is Valdar?" campaign is different from a traditional Valdar mascot appearance at an Open House, pep rally, or other school event. This campaign is specifically designed to be an interactive educational experience for students.

During each visit, we meet with students in a controlled, smaller group setting where we engage in fun and age appropriate ways!

An example visit

What would a visit with our mascot look like?

DMC mascot assistants introduce Valdar, explaining who he is and where he lives.
Talk about Del Mar College and the benefits/opportunities of going to college.
Reading a book to the students.
Have Valdar make a special appearance and interact with the students.
Students are provided Valdar coloring pages and crayons to fill out and take home.

Visit Requirements

For schools interested in having Valdar visit, we need:

School name and address
Preferred date(s) and time(s)
Grade level(s) and approximate number of students
Number of groups/sessions
Location of the presentation (specific room # for example)
On site contact information
Confirmation of a private changing area for Valdar
