Music Department
Welcome to the Del Mar College Department of Music. Del Mar College was one of the first community colleges in the nation to earn accreditation by the National Association of Schools of Music. Students receive professional preparation by faculty who are excellent musicians and scholars.
Our fully integrated program incorporates study in music education, performance, theory, sound recording technology and composition to ensure success after graduation. In fact, from Spain to Germany, from London to New York, Del Mar College graduates have performed in some of the most prestigious music halls around the world. The college is also the origin of the official Texas Jazz Festival, the Corpus Christi Symphony, and the Corpus Christi Chorale.
In January 2014 we opened a new portion of the Music Building that is transforming the educational environment at Del Mar College to the immense benefit of our faculty, students, staff, and community. The new facilities include a large ensemble rehearsal hall, a large recording studio and control room, back-stage artist facilities for Wolfe Recital Hall, a small recording studio and control room, two classrooms, and a computer lab with cutting edge technology.
We are forever grateful to the tireless efforts of the Del Mar College community for their unwavering support in completing this important project, enhancing student education by providing state of the art facilities and working environment.
