In-House Catering

Del Mar College employees can find information about on-campus catering on DMCShare.

Commercial Catering

Please call Campus Dining at (361) 698-1332 to book your catering event. Catering arrangements should be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. We strongly prefer booking as far in advance as possible. Email food and/or beverage requests to campusdining@delmar.edu (cc: eolvera3@delmar.edu) or fax to (361) 698-1958.

Please provide as much information as possible at the time of the booking. The following information is needed:

Event Information

  • Date of the event
  • Name of function (purpose)
  • Food set-up time and pick-up time
  • Location of the event
  • Representative contact information
  • Menu request
  • Number of guests

An estimated number of guests (not a range) may be accepted in advance; a final count must be submitted at least one week (Monday-Friday) prior to the event. Special arrangements needed for the guest count may be discussed with the food service manager. If no final count is received by the deadline, you will be catered and invoiced for the estimated number booked in advance.

Guest count accuracy is important as it determines the amount of food prepared and impacts your invoice. If additional food and/or beverages are required due to a higher actual count of guests or higher than average food and/or beverage consumption, the client will be charged for the additional costs.

Leftover food after an event is property of catering services and cannot be kept by the client for other uses.

Del Mar College/Del Mar Campus Dining is not liable for injuries, physical damage or medical liabilities while persons or groups are on Del Mar College property or using Del Mar College facilities. Food cannot be taken from buffets, functions priced per person or all-you-can-eat meals. State and local health authorities do not allow individuals to handle food without proper equipment.

Billing Information

(Please provide at booking; indicate if more than one person/organization will be billed.)

  • Name of business, school (district), organization or person
  • Physical address, email address (invoice is sent by email), telephone number
  • Method of payment (provide copy of tax exempt certification, if applicable, by email or fax)

Changes and Cancellations

Requests for changes to an order must be submitted at least four (4) business days prior to the event. We will do our best to accommodate any needs or changes but cannot guarantee results if notice is less than specified. Substantial increases to guest counts require at least three (3) business days in order for us to ensure enough product is available; again, we will gladly try to help with last-minute increases but cannot guarantee results or exact product availability.

All cancellations must be made in writing via email or fax at least three (3) business days prior to the scheduled event. Cancellation notice less than 48 hours in advance will incur charges.

Delivery Service and Additional Charges

Delivery service is available and subject to a round-trip cost up to $50. Additional charges may be incurred for any special requests.

Payment

Payment is accepted the day of the event. Invoices are emailed one week after the event. Checks should be made payable to Del Mar College – Campus Dining and received within 30 days. Credit cards and cash are accepted; receipt of payment may be emailed at your request.
