Strategic Planning, Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment and Institutional Research

Welcome to the web page for the areas of Strategic Planning, Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment, and Institutional Research. In short, we provide planning services and data to support decisions at Del Mar College.

We work collaboratively with all Del Mar College departments, offices and programs to ensure data-driven decision making and continuous quality improvement by facilitating and coordinating systematic, integrated, research-based strategic planning, assessment, institutional effectiveness and reporting.

Our purpose is to continually improve the quality of the College’s instructional, administrative and educational support programs so that outcomes achieved are consistent with the mission and goals of Del Mar College.  Student learning outcomes assessment provides a major mechanism for gauging institutional effectiveness; this includes the institutional and program levels. We also provide support and leadership for the systematic review of all academic programs that award a degree or certificate.

Administrative and student support programs also participate in the institutional effectiveness process in order to continuously review and strengthen services.

Our areas provide a number of services, reports and data analyses, including:

  • Oversight of the strategic planning process;
  • Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment planning support for instructional and administrative/student support programs;
  • Instructional program review support;
  • Data dashboards;
  • Annual Statistical Profile;
  • Program review reports;
  • Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) federal reporting.
  • Hispanic Serving Institution — Student Economic Data
