Strategic Plan
Del Mar College’s Strategic Plan, Aspire. Engage. Achieve. defines the strategic focus for all College activities.
Established in September 2019, the plan is comprised of six over-arching goals for student success and operational effectiveness:
- Goal 1: Completion
- Goal 2: Recruitment and Persistence
- Goal 3: Academic Preparedness and Student Learning
- Goal 4: Learning Environments
- Goal 5: Workforce Development, Community Partnerships, and Advocacy
- Goal 6: Financial Effectiveness and Affordability
Each goal is further defined by objectives which describe what will be accomplished and key performance indicators (KPI) which describe how progress will be measured. The plan is evaluated annually in alignment with the College’s annually assessment cycle.

Operational plan
The College also maintains an Operational Plan. In addition to what is included in the Strategic Plan, the Operational Plan includes Thresholds and Targets for each KPI and Institutional Strategies for every Goal and Objective. The Operational Plan is a living document; it is updated periodically to respond to changing internal and external conditions.
Operational Plan: Version 2 – February 28, 2021
Student achievement
Nine key performance indicators were selected from the Strategic Plan to measure student achievement at the College. These indicators are monitored and plans for improvement are identified annually.
