Classes Toward Clinical Registered Nurse Preceptor Certificate

Purpose: Obtain the latest evidence-based, bedside teaching skills for you to use to enhance nursing students/new hire nursing practice and patient care. These classes are for RNs who work at clinical sites with nursing students  or those who onboard new hires. These classes are also suitable for nurse managers and educators from colleges and community healthcare facilities.

Cost: $146.00 for all 8 weeks

Location: Del Mar College West Campus, HS1 110, 4101 Old Brownsville Road

Online/Learner paced classes are in Canvas and do not require attendance on campus.

Total Contact Hours: 18.0

To earn the Clinical RN Preceptor Certificate, a Registered Nurse must successfully complete all 18 Educational Activity hours above and then complete a Clinical RN Preceptor Mentorship of 6 clinical days/over six weeks (6.0 Contact Hours - Cost $250.00) with Nursing Faculty who have demonstrated mentorship expertise. Clinical RN Preceptor Mentorships are by arrangement.

To earn contact hours for each class, the RN must attend the entire session/work through the Canvas module, complete a posttest with 75% or higher, and complete an evaluation. Planners and presenters have no bias to report or conflict of interest. Not joint provided. No Sponsorship.
