Required for CHEF 1301 and all CHEF Labs

  • Knife Kit, carrying case, or toolbox
  • 8" Chef knife
  • 4" Paring knife
  • Filet and or boning knife
  • Vegetable peeler
  • Pocket thermometer- digital or dial stem
  • Measuring spoons
  • Measuring cups
  • Hot pads (pan grabbers) 2 ea
  • Black permanent marker
  • White bar mop towels (at least 3 per lab)
  • Uniforms: 2 sets recommended
    • White chef hat (hairnet needed to restrain excess hair)
    • White chef coat or jacket. No colored trim, buttons, etc.
    • Name tag or name embroidered on right chest in royal blue. First and last name.
    • Logo embroidered on left chest
    • Hounds tooth (black & white check) check baggy chef pants
    • White bib aprons ( 2 per lab)
    • Shoes: black, closed toe, non skid, oil resistant, maximum heel height 2"
  • School supplies: pens, pencils, calculator, notebook, paper, etc
  • Access to computer with Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox

  • Serrated or slicing knife
  • Digital scale
  • Small food processor
  • Kitchen scissors

Required for PSTR 1301 Fundamentals of Baking and all PSTR labs

  • Digital scale
  • Pastry bags, 12" and 14"
  • Pastry brush, not silicone
  • Icing Tips: #5 round, #104 rose, #21 star, quick icer
  • Rose nail
  • Couplers (at least 2)
  • Plastic cake scraper
  • Metal bench scraper/ dough cutter
  • 8" or 10" metal icing spatula
  • Biscuit cutters
  • Cake pans: 2 each, 8" round, 2" high
