B7.19 Discrimination and Harassment Complaint Policy for Students:  Revised April 14, 2015 Del Mar College, in its continuing effort to seek equity in education and act in compliance with federal and state law, provides a complaint procedure for the prompt and equitable investigation and resolution of complaints of unlawful retaliation, or discrimination and/or harassment of students based on their race, color, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity/transgender status, sexual orientation), age, national origin, religion, disability, veteran or military status.

This complaint procedure and the District’s Policy Prohibiting Sexual Violence constitute the grievance procedures for complaints alleging unlawful sex discrimination required under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. As used herein, “complaint” is synonymous with “grievance.” This procedure may be used by any student of the College.

Students who wish to submit complaints of discrimination or harassment should contact the Dean of Student Engagement and Retention at 698-1277 or in the Harvin Student Center 204.
