Del Mar College offers many options to make classes more accessible and convenient no matter what your schedule is. Flexible scheduling options allow you to take Del Mar College classes off campus, online, on weekends, and even finish your degree more quickly. Just a reminder: these courses require the same admissions, registration, tuition, and prerequisites as other credit classes.
Choosing distance education courses allows more flexibility for your busy schedule. But don't be misled, these courses aren't easier than courses taught on campus. Successful distance learning students dedicate specific time each week to their studies, stay committed to keeping up with class assignments, and take the initiative to stay in contact with instructors. Traditional courses are taught on the Heritage and Windward campuses during the Fall and Spring semesters and Summer Session I.

Mini-sessions may be offered with a variety of courses that last anywhere from three to 13 weeks, shorter than the traditional 16-week classes. Some classes may have mandatory laboratories.

You can earn college credit toward your degree by attending weekend classes at Del Mar College. Unless otherwise designated, these classes start at the end of the first week of classes. Call (361) 698-1290 or view course sections for more information.
Note: For purposes of refunds and withdrawals, the first day of class is defined as all classes begin, and not as the first day you attend class.
Some classes have mandatory laboratories. These labs are noted on the course description. The Stone Writing Center and Math Laboratories are open on Saturday.

To participate in online courses, students must provide their own computer and modem. Students should have the skills necessary to connect to their ISP, operate an email program, and navigate the Web. Additional skills necessary include keyboarding and managing files (saving, uploading, downloading, and installing). You are responsible for configuring and maintaining your own equipment.
You must secure your own account with an Internet Service Provider (ISP). These charges are not included in the course tuition or fees. Del Mar cannot guarantee that the software of all ISPs will be compatible with Del Mar's online course offerings. It is your responsibility to make sure you have stable high speed internet access and access to a computer.
All online students will need to follow the course information under the course name in the course sections for more information.
