• College Relations Mission

    The mission of the Del Mar College Office of College Relations is to facilitate effective external and internal communication that enhances the College image and maximizes institutional advancement so our community understands, responds to and supports the College, and values the educational opportunities the College offers.

    Using a research-based approach, College Relations manages the College brand identity and strategic marketing, fosters good public relations and promotes recognition and understanding of the College through market research, integrated brand marketing, print and electronic publication production, advertising, media relations, educational television broadcasting, social media, promotional activities and selected special events. 

    College Relations develops and maintains positive relationships with community constituents, opinion leaders, elected officials and serves as the official liaison between the institution and the media. Further, College Relations operations are integral to the College’s crisis communications program. 

    College Relations monitors the College image in the media and the community and is proactive in identifying and managing relevant public issues regarding the College and the community, serving as counsel to the President and other administrators.
