Graduates have a knowledge of surgical aseptic technique and application: familiarity with surgical procedures, anatomy, physiology, mircobiology, pathology and the ability to meet the needs of the surgical team in areas where they are qualified.Accreditation The Surgical Technology program operates under the standards of the Accreditation Review Committee on Education in Surgical Technology (ARC-ST). It is recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), 6 West Dry Creek, Suite 210, Littleton, CO 80120-80, (303) 694-9262. Graduates of this program are entitled to a Certificate of Achievement and are eligible to sit for the national certification examination. Those students passing the examination become Certified Surgical Technologists (CST).
