Providing “access to education” is Del Mar College’s mission for Coastal Bend residents. Spring is a good time to start working toward that certificate or associate’s degree for high demand jobs in the area’s workforce or earning the first two years of core courses transferable to a university for further study.
To get current and potential students fired up about registering early, the College will hold Registration Rallies on the East and West Campuses next week for Spring 2018 credit courses.
“Research shows that students who register early tend to do better in school because they get the times they need and the instructors they want, along with having plenty of time to plan their schedules around work, classes and any other issues they may face while attending college,” says Dr. Rito Silva, Vice President for Student Affairs. “I encourage both current students and anyone considering enrolling at Del Mar College for spring classes to take advantage of our Registration Rallies so they can complete admissions and registration processes early.”
Rallies are scheduled on the DMC East Campus, located at Baldwin and Ayers, in the Harvin Student Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 6-7. DMC West Campus rallies are set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 8-9, in the Coleman Center on Boaz Blvd. off Airport Road.
During each rally, participants can learn more about admissions, financial aid, student resources like the Viking Go app and other student services or receive advising before registering for courses. Onsite admissions and assistance with completing documentation will be available. Participants can get enrollment assistance with DMC representatives ready at the computers to help with completing applications, registration and paying online.
The rallies also feature fun activities, including a prize wheel for gift cards, food, DMC swag and more.
