Their determination to get an education has kept them going. For students completing their high school equivalency certificates through the Del Mar College Adult Education and Literacy Department, beating the odds has been a challenge during their lives.

Out of 108 GED graduates, over 70 will participate during the ceremony scheduled this Thursday, June 8, in the College’s Richardson Performance Hall.

Family and friends who can’t attend the ceremony will have the opportunity to watch as Del Mar TV broadcasts the event live on Digital Channel 19 through Spectrum and Grande Cable as well as on Channel 99 through AT&T U-verse.

The College will also webcast live beginning 15 minutes before the 7 p.m. ceremony starts. To view the ceremony online, go to www.delmar.edu/webcasts.

Individuals who miss the live cable and webcast can watch rebroadcasts of the ceremony on Channel 19 and Channel 99 as follows:

* 10 p.m. on June 16, 23 and 30

* 7 p.m. on June 19 and 26 and July 3

* 3 p.m. on June 21 and 28 and July 5

DVDs of the recorded ceremony can be pre-ordered by phone for $20 each by calling 361-698-1328. Visa and MasterCard charges will be accepted. For an additional $2 shipping and handling fee, DVDs can be mailed. Individuals can also pick up DVDs from the Business and Registration Desk at the Del Mar College Center for Economic Development (3209 S. Staples) beginning Monday, June 19.
